Changgyeonggung (창경궁)
October 2009 8 |
Changgyeonggung is a direct neighbour of Changdeokgung, but with an entirely different character. It was used as a retirement palace for abdicated kings, and it has been emptied during the Japanese colonisation, so not many buildings remain. It is less crowded than the other palaces, but also there is less to see. From Changgyeonggung, there is a footbridge crossing into Jongmyo park, where one of the most famous Korean shrines is located
