Near the Anderson gate of the Etosha park is camp Okaukuejo. In my opinion this is the nicest camp. It too has an illuminated water hole, but here it is close to the camp and our bungalows were actually around one side of the water hole. There are even two-storey bungalows with a view over the waterhole from the second floor balcony (our view only went to the wall surrounding the water hole). The water hole attracted elephants and, in the night, rhinos. The light, hoever, was sodium arc light, so the animals, the grass and anything else was orange-yellow, like a garbage truck.

Hartebeest fight

A group of hartebeest fighting. Well, practicing anyway. They were not too serious about it. They lock their horns with a loud clack and try to push the other guy.

Okaukuejo sunrise

Sunrise at the Okaukuejo waterhole. The pictures were taken about every two minutes.
