Mount Etjo

Mount Etjo Safari Lodge is a convenient halfway stop between Windhoek and the Etosha national park. On the access road, you can already see a big water hole with plenty of antelope, birds and other animals. The lodge itself was located on one edge of the waterhole, and on the other side they even had three lazy hippos sunbathing! The lodge itself is pretty good, but with very different room standards: the couples mostly got palaces with jacuzzi etc., while we Singles had to stay in more modest quarters. Mine was still good but another guy got something that looked like the broom cupboard.
At the lodge they offered an afternoon game drive which was our first opportunity to see the Namibian wild life. This was excellent and pretty good value for the price. I do not recommend the after-dinner lion feeding though. Better stay in the Lapa hut and have a few more Windhoek Lager.
