The "chinatown" of Busan is the area around Texas street and Shanghai street, near the railway station. Despite being not close to the port, this is where all the seedy motels and entertainment venues are. Chinatown has morphed into a kind of Russiantown, where from every door foreigners are addressed by Korean salespeople in Russian, and most restaurants have a Russian menu. This area is pretty safe at daytime but does become a bit rowdy in the night. The type of vendors also changes: where it were clothes vendors or restaurant owners during daytime, at night would be Filipina or Chinese girls, addressing passers-by in Russian as well.
