Jagalchi Fish Market (자갈치)

October 2009

Jagalchi fish market is one of the biggest in the world, probably the second biggest after Tokyo. This is a Busan tradition, but one that has recently been moved into a very modern building. Around the "new" fish market building, there are still side streets and alleys full of vendors selling fresh or dried fish from crates, sushi bars and other fish restaurants, and so on. The whole area is a bit smelly - it is supposed to be a big improvement over the old days of the old market.
